Description
The Standard Inn. Rye, East Sussex. The Mint is a street in Rye Ancient Town.
A quintessential old English pub set in the heart of the medieval citadel of Rye, The Standard has always been favoured by residents and visitors alike as the local pub. Part of the fabric of the towns close knit community a personal, relaxed and warm welcome awaits you.
The oldest part of the building dates back to 1420. Originally two separate dwellings (note the two front doors) it was merged and became licensed as The Standard Inn around 1600.
Not having been subjected to the modern wine bar or theme pub treatment it still holds all of its original charm and character. The pub is run by landlord Jonathan Breeds who's family can be traced back in Rye several centuries. I believe when visiting such a unique town as Rye, you'll soon feel part of it and experience its charm and become a small part of it's living history.

What wonderful light and contrast - that fabulous HDR effect without overpowering your subject. This is just beautifully captured and presented Donald - amazing perspective and detail. F/V
